AgriTech Challenge Pro showcases potential of the agricultural sector to create jobs for the youth

Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation has successfully hosted the final pitch of the 2025 AgriTech Challenge Pro, celebrating a remarkable display of innovation and entrepreneurial excellence to transform Ghana’s agricultural sector. Held from 22nd to 23rd May 2025, at KNUST Business School, Kumasi, the event showcased cutting-edge agritech and food innovation solutions poised to address some of the challenges of the sector, and has shown great potential to create jobs and employment opportunities for young people

43 teams presented their business pitch decks to a panel of Judges also known as Ideation Team members, where they received constructive feedback. The participating teams delivered compelling pitches, demonstrating both the viability and impact potential of their business solutions. From tech-driven tools to sustainable farming initiatives, the range of ideas highlighted the creativity and determination of Ghana’s emerging entrepreneurs.

The winning teams will receive seed funding, mentorship opportunities, and access to KIC’s extensive network of partners as they progress to the KIC Business Incubation program. These resources will enable them to further develop and implement groundbreaking ideas, while growing and scaling up their business.

 “This year’s AgriTech Challenge Pro has once again showcased the brilliance and resilience of Ghana’s youth. The innovative solutions presented today reaffirm the transformative power of agriculture and technology in driving economic growth and sustainability,” said Benjamin Gyan-Kesse, Executive Director for Kosmos Innovation Center.

The winners for the 2025 AgriTech Pro are:

  • PureLube won USD25000 while Ecobroma won USD20,000.
  • The following start-ups won USD 10,000 each: Zenags Organics; Mushplus Agri-Foods; MelDak Agro; AgriEase; Fibrelux; Tomavi Wines; Congam Stainless Charcoal; Danny Machinery, EcoLeap; BioSpace Gh; and Earth-Allies.
  • Winners of USD5000 each include Peanut Pride; Millbles; BIAQ Golden Cycle; Soyko Agro Foods; GardPath Technologies; Peli Natural Glow; MilkyWorld; Growth Line Farm-Tech and Premium Biofert.

This program isn’t just about generating ideas—it’s about refining those ideas through the lenses of market research, industry knowledge, innovation, viability, scalability, and above all, building enduring teams that can weather the storms and seize the opportunities ahead.

As Ghana continues to prioritize agriculture as a cornerstone of its economy, initiatives like the AgriTech Challenge Pro demonstrate the immense potential of youth-driven innovation in shaping a sustainable and prosperous future.
